The Naval Cadet School Almirante Padilla, Maritime University of Colombia, received at its facilities 25 Cadets of the Peruvian Navy Ship BAP Unión, one of the largest sailboats in the world.
Rear Admiral Javier Alfonso Jaimes Pinilla, director of this institution, received the Peruvian delegation, headed by the Commander of the Ship, Captain Roberto Vargas Salas and the Chief of embarked Cadets, First Lieutenant Sandro Rivera Peñares, sharing with them, a bit of the essence of the Colombian Navy being. “Welcome to the Naval School, we are two navies historically partners, it is a pleasure to have you on board,” said Rear Admiral Jaimes.
During the activity, they toured the different monuments in the alma mater, exchanged presents and learned about the Simulation Resources of the Center for Research, Development and Innovation of Maritime Activities (CIDIAM), used for the training of National Navy crews, the Officers and seafarers of the future.
This activity contributes to the international visibility of the Naval Cadet School Almirante Padilla, giving students the opportunity to know another culture and strengthen ties of partnership with students from another country.
