A woman, member of the Organized Armed Group (GAO) ELN, surrendered before troops of the Joint Task Force Marte, after she heard through loudspeaker activities, distribution of brochures and messages through the radio station Colombia Estéreo, the benefits that demobilization brings.
Before troops of the National Army deployed in rural area of the municipality of Santa Rosa del Sur, department of Bolívar, an alleged member of the Tito Marín Front of the Organized Armed Group (GAO) ELN expressed her will to take advantage of the benefits of the Programa de Atención Humanitaria al Desmovilizado (Humanitarian Assistance Program to the Demobilized) of the Ministry of National Defense, which will support her during the process of social reintegration.
This 24-year-old woman, who would have been in the criminal group for 5 years, apparently was in charge of extorting merchants and guilds in that area, as well as carrying out criminal intelligence on personnel of the Military Forces and civil authorities of the municipality of Santa Rosa del Sur.
She decided to leave this armed group because of the abuse she received from her superiors.
These surrenders ratify the commitment of the National Army to the social reintegration of members of outlaw groups that have presence in the south of Bolivar.
