The work of the soldiers in the same way led to the arrest, in Cimitarra, Santander, of two individuals accused of theft and extortion in some villages of the municipality.
Soldiers of the National Army in Barrancabermeja, Santander and in coordination with the National Police, reported the arrest of five members of the Organized Crime Group – GDO, Los del Norte, allegedly engaged in drug trafficking in the petroleum district.
The facts took place after search warrants that led the troops to find these individuals, who include alias Barbas or Matias, aka Gordo and alias Keiner, who seem to be associated in illicit activities related to the marketing, distribution, sale of hallucinogenic substances; they also had records for crimes of manufacture, trafficking and illegal possession of firearms or ammunition, domestic violence and links with attempted murder.
Those arrested had with them more than a thousand grams of narcotics such as cocaine hydrochloride and marijuana ready to dose, nine cartridges of different calibers and cash.
In other operations, in Cimitarra, Santander, thanks to information provided by the network of citizen participation and in coordination with the National Police, soldiers of the Fifth Brigade reported the arrest of two men aged 22 and 36 years, allegedly responsible for thefts on farms in the villages San Tropel and San Fernando de Cimitarra and the municipality India de Landázuri, and also for intimidating the people for the payment of extortions in the rural area of the mentioned municipalities. Both had arrest warrants for the crimes of qualified and aggravated theft, manufacture, trafficking and carrying of firearms or ammunition and simple kidnapping.
All those arrested were put into custody of the authority for judicial work.
