The finding represents loses by more than 144 million dollars to the finances of this criminal structure.
Three operations carried out simultaneously, one on land and two at sea, by Colombian Navy Units, led to the discovery of 4,287 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, apparently belonging to the organized armed group (GAO) Clan del Golfo, in the department of Choc贸.
The first operation was carried out on the Colombian - Panamanian border, where Pacific Coast Guard Units, with the support of a Maritime Patrol Plane, pursued two boats, which were intercepted 25 nautical miles of the municipality of Jurad贸, in Choc贸. During the inspection, 902 kilos of cocaine were found by troops inside the fishing boat. Four people of Colombian nationality were captured.
Simultaneously, troops of the Navy Infantry Brigade No.2, in the sector known as Punta Pi帽a of the municipality of Jurad贸, found a collection center with 97 bags inside; they contained 2,077 kilograms of cocaine, ready to be shipped in speedboats, bound for Central America.
The third operation was carried out 45 nautical miles of the municipality of Bah铆a Solano, where Coast Guard Units with information from Naval Intelligence carried out the maritime interception of a lobster-type ship, in which three people were traveling, two of them of Colombian and one with Panamanian nationality, who transported 44 bags with 1,308 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride on board.
With this finding, the Pacific Naval Force prevents the circulation of more than four million doses of cocaine on the international black market, preventing health problems for thousands of people in Central and North American countries, as well as the generation of new consumers. In the same way, it counteracts the entry of more than $ 144 million into the finances of the Clan del Golfo, which commits crimes in the Colombian Pacific which besides cause irreparable damage to the inhabitants, the environment and the country.
