Each of these structures would have a production capacity of one ton per month; they were found by troops in a rural area of the municipalities of Timbiquí and López de Micay, Cauca, and would integrate an illegal economic complex of the Rafael Aguilera dissidents that uses the Naya River as the main route for drug trafficking.
After military intelligence work and through the constant operation, the troops of the Third Division against the problem of drug trafficking, seven laboratories used for the production of coca paste base and cocaine hydrochloride were found by troops in the village of Quevedo, of Timbiquí, and in the Pastico and El Cacao sectors of the municipality of López de Micay, areas adjacent to the Naya River.
The military operations carried out by troops of the Infantry Battalion N° 56, in conjunction with the National Navy and the Colombian Aerospace Force, in recent days led to finding these sites where the narcotic was processed for subsequent commercialization through the drug trafficking routes in the north of Cauca and south of Valle del Cauca, as well as its transportation across the Pacific Ocean to other continents, thus constituting one of the economic complexes of the Rafael Aguilera residual structure.
The structures had an average size of 15 meters by 40 meters in which, elements such as barrels, ovens and choppers were stored.
Precisely this operation against illicit activities led to the finding of 2,590 gallons of liquid cocaine, 1,120 gallons of DIESEL and 1,700 gallons of gasoline. In the sites, equipped with microwave ovens, presses and filters, chemicals used for the production of this narcotic were in the same way found.
The drugs and items were put into custody of the authority. No arrests were made in the operation.
