In the village of La Mesa, Municipality of Sardinata, Norte de Santander, the National Army, the Colombian Air Force, and the National Police, through a joint and coordinated operation, find and destroy two laboratories for the production of cocaine, belonging to the Juan Fernando Porras Mart铆nez Front, of the organized armed group, GAO, Eln.
As a result of this operation, two illegal laboratories were found by troops, 306 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, as well as abundant chemical material that was used for the elaboration and production of the narcotic; this represents an economic loss of 2,641,423,800 million pesos, about 742,489.740 USD.
This type of rudimentary structures, produce a serious loss to the environment, due to the use of chemicals that alter the natural ecosystem.
In this way, the military forces and the National Police continue to carry out operations, to neutralize the activities that finance the criminal activity of organized armed groups in this sector of the country.
