These are alias Candado and Alias Chucho, who were allegedly responsible for coordinating criminal activities for the illegal financing of the organized armed group, GAO, Pelusos, as well as providing security to Alias Macho, the main ringleader of the aforementioned gang.
The military operation was made possible by intelligence work in the frame of the military and police campaign Esparta, where troops of the Ground Operations Battalion N.10 of the Vulcano Task Force and units of the Criminal Investigation Section of the National Police of Norte de Santander, carried out the arrest of these two alleged ringleaders, who took refuge in the urban area of the municipality of Cúcuta after fleeing the Catatumbo region evading military operations that are conducting in the area.
Alias Candado, 34 years old, would have more than eight years of criminality, and would be in charge of the security of Alias Macho, Chief ringleader of the GAO Pelusos.
In the same way, alias Chucho, 25 years old, was a group ringleader in rural Ábrego; he had a criminal experience of five years, carrying out criminal coordination to support the maintenance of the criminal structure in the Department.
Thanks to this decisive operation, the GAO Pelusos suffers a significant structural loss that forces it to modify its line of command within its armed component and manages to block the criminal projection of territorial expansion that these organized armed groups intend to conduct in the midst of the struggle for control drug trafficking.
