This officer of the National Army is in charge of ensuring security in a strategic area of the Asian continent.
Romero, belonging to the Artillery Weapon, marks a milestone among the women with command of the institution. She, with four years in the rank of second lieutenant, was selected among the 544 armed officers who are currently part of the Army, in order to command 11,499 kilometers away from Colombia, a strategic (remote) base in the Arab Republic of Egypt and the state of Israel.
This young woman, who until two months ago was serving as the commander of a motorized in the Air Defense Artillery Battalion No.2 Nueva Granada, in Barrancabermeja, Santander, obtained together with her platoon significant results that decisively weakened the logistical and financial component of criminal organizations, operations that led to highlighting her work and being chosen for this mission.
Currently, Nicoll, 26, is part of the Colombia Battalion, a military unit that is in this territory; there she has under her command two non-commissioned officers and 14 soldiers, with whom she has the mission of verifying, observing and reporting any incident that violates the peace treaties that exist in this red border area; a mission that is part of the guidelines of the Multinational Force and Observers; an international organization created by the Arab Republic of Egypt and the State of Israel to maintain peace in the Sinai.
The paratrooper Second Lieutenant, (Advanced Combat Course) with a 155 mm Howitzer Maintenance Course, projects as a military woman determined to use all the resources she has to become the officer she always dreamed of, and to be an example for all young women who want to wear the camouflage of the National Army.
