The action occurred after a firefight that took place in the village of La Quiebra de Briceño, north of Department of Antioquia.
This result occurred at a time when the troops of the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Department of Antioquia and agents of the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) went towards a rural sector of that municipality, to accompany the payment of extortion for about $500 million pesos in order to capture the perpetrators of the extortion.
In the military operation, alias Hernán dies. He had been designated by 'Cabuyo' to receive money from extortion against the civilian population in Briceño and merchants and contractors of companies in that area of the north of Department of Antioquia. In the same way, one of his bodyguards was injured and received medical care of the soldiers and later he was taken to a medical center, at this moment his prognosis is reserved.
