In the course of joint operations by the military forces, in coordination with the National Police and with the support of the Attorney General's office, it was possible to neutralize Emiliano Alcides Osorio Macea, alias Cain or Pilatos, the main ringleader of the organized armed group Caparros, in the village La Unión in the municipality of Tarazá, Antioquia.
This individual was the ringleader of this organization since 2016, after this criminal structure separated of the GAO Clan del Golfo. He was required by arrest warrant by the judicial authorities for the crimes of drug trafficking, Association to commit aggravated crimes, homicides, trafficking, carrying and holding firearms, forced displacement and illegal extraction of minerals in the bajo Cauca Antioqueño region.
Alias Cain or Pilatos was charged with the murder of social leaders. He was in the same way responsible for the control of coca leaf plantations and extortion in the bajo Cauca region and southern Cordoba. He had an extensive criminal record of more than 16 years, being a member of the so called bloc Mineros of the (AUC) Autodefensas de Córdoba.
In 2006 he joined the demobilization process and was part of the substructure Virgilio Peralta Arenas of the GAO Clan del Golfo, later he made the decision to disengage of the command and control of this structure to take the direction of the GAO (Grupo Armado Organizado, in spanish) Los Caparros.
This individual was in charge of leading the confrontation against the GAO Clan del Golfo in bajo Cauca antioqueño region and in Southern Cordoba, through criminal alliances with the Eln and structures 18 and 36 of the residual organized armed group (GAO-r). He was responsible for the collection of money from extortion against merchants and transport companies of the municipalities of Tarazá, Cáceres and Caucasia in Antioquia and the forced displacement of the inhabitants of this region.
With the neutralization of this ringleader troops contribute to the clarification of collective homicides, as well as the criminal operations of this organized armed group that finances its criminal operation with drug trafficking through illegal routes, for the marketing of narcotics.
