Buenaventura. 254 members of the indigenous reservation Chagpien Tordó, of the Litoral del San Juan, in the department of Chocó, in displacement condition, and in the urban area of Buenaventura, in the department of Valle del Cauca, received medical assistance in a Development Support Activity, led by the National Navy.
The 60 families in the Youth Comprehensive Care Center -Caiju de Buenaventura, were taken care by the Marine Infantry Brigade No.2, which conducted coordination with different foundations and institutions such as the Pacific Naval Reserve, the District Mayor's Office, the Ministry of Health, the Pacific Air Patrol, the Lions Club and Social Management, to join efforts and mitigate the conditions of vulnerability of this community.
During the activity, 460 consultations were provide in phono audiology, pediatrics, dentistry, psychology, vaccination, prenatal control and general medicine. In the same way, more than 100 medicines and 4,303 humanitarian aid kits represented in clothes, toys, diapers and food, were distributed. On the other hand, the Marine Infantry were in charge of entertaining the activity and bringing joy to the children, with recreational leisure activities.
José Nilson Chamarra Osorio, leader of this indigenous council, expressed his gratitude for this activity "we received a donation of the National Navy, things we did not have, and with this approach we feel better".
