In an inter-institutional and joint effort, humanitarian assistance was provided to more than 1,050 people as part of the activities carried out daily by the Colombian Navy in the city of Cartagena.
This time, institutions such as ANDI, Termocandelaria, and foundations including AGM Huellas de Piedra, Bahía, Puerto Bahía, Isla del Rosario, as well as residents of the Castillogrande and Bocagrande neighborhoods, joined efforts with the authorities for the benefit of vulnerable communities in the city.
Integrating the efforts of the public and private sectors, the Colombian Navy through the Caribbean Naval Force has permanently accompanied the distribution of these humanitarian aids, including items of primary use in the family basket.
In this new humanitarian activity, the inhabitants of the insular areas of Islas del Rosario, as well as the inhabitants of the neighborhoods Puerto Hierro, Policarpa, Arroz Barato and Villa Hermosa in the urban area of Cartagena, and other vulnerable sectors of the capital city of the department of Bolivar, have been receiving the Unified action of the State with the help of the private sector and non-governmental organizations during the time of the Mandatory Preventive Isolation.
"We are fully committed to all the initiatives carried out by the State and the private sector, aimed at enriching the well-being of our inhabitants during this national contingency caused by COVID-19, our capabilities, human talent and will of Our crew members are available to help the most vulnerable civilians”, said Vice Admiral Andrés Vásquez Villegas, Commander of the Caribbean Naval Force.
