With this operation, more than 16 million euros were prevented from entering the finances of drug trafficking organizations.
As part of comprehensive maritime security and control operations, the Colombian Navy seized 112 kilograms of methamphetamine on a merchant ship, which was allegedly contaminated by organizations serving drug trafficking.
During the underwater search to the ship in the port of Buenaventura, Diving and Rescue crew members of the Colombian Navy found hidden in one of the sea boxes, five pressed packages that apparently contained illicit substances, for which they proceeded to remove them and transport them to the Buenaventura Coast Guard Station.
At the place, the Technical Investigation Staff – CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office carried out the Approved Preliminary Identification Test, determining that the packages contained 112 kilograms of methamphetamine.
With this operation, the Naval Institution prevented more than 16 million euros from entering the finances of the drug trafficking organizations that commit crimes in the Colombian Pacific. In the same way, the commercialization of approximately one and a half million doses of this substance on the streets of the world was prevented.
