In a coordinated work conducted by the Colombian Navy and the Government of Bolívar, eight tons of agricultural products were transported that will be commercialized in the peasant food markets that are being held in Cartagena - Bolívar.
This important activity of strengthening peasants and farmers, began at the village of Colú in the municipality of María La Baja - Bolívar, where it was possible for small producers in this area to transport their main products, including orange, papaya and banana, to the heroic city for their participation in the regional peasant food markets.
Troops of the Navy Infantry Battalion No.13 in coordination with the officials of the Bolívar Governorate and the peasants of this village, were in charge of collecting the fresh plantations and so, making their resources available to boost the region's economy, reactivate trade and contribute to the economic development of the Montes de María subregion.
The implementation of these operations has led to promoting sustainable trade through direct purchasing without intermediaries, bringing the peasants closer to their final clients by reducing costs and optimizing the logistics process of transport.
