Crew members of the Navy of Colombia participated in the distribution of 3.2 tons of precursors for the installation of a system for the provision of drinking water; humanitarian aid were issued by the National Government through the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management 鈥揢NGRD - and the Fund Todos Somos Pazc铆fico, which will benefit more than 1,500 families, in the municipality of Francisco Pizarro, in the department of Nari帽o.
In Francisco Pizarro, the fund Todos Somos Pazc铆fico and the Colombian navy carried out the protocol acts of the official presentation of two five-horsepower motor pumps, two tanks with a storage capacity of 5,000 liters, 18 tanks with a storage capacity of 2,000 liters, two portable drinking plants of 500 liters/hour, pipes, hose and accessories. With these precursors, according to the needs of this community, two public batteries will be installed, intended for the urban and the rural areas, which consists of points for the manual intake of drinking water, which will benefit about 7,500 people.
The event took place in the Salahonda Sports Center, municipal headquarters of Francisco Pizzaro, and counted on the work of the municipal mayor, councilors, representatives of the Community Council, Community action boards and the community.
The Colombian Navy linked to this process through the Pacific Naval force that during the months of February and March, with its amphibious landing ships ARC Gulf of Tribug谩 and ARC Bah铆a M谩laga, as well as troops of the Navy Infantry Brigade No.4, provided logistical support for the storage, loading, Maritime and river transport of more than 250 tons of humanitarian aid, to the beneficiary municipalities of this program of the National Government, which aims to install alternative means for access and provide drinking water, which will be useful for Nari帽o families to meet basic needs such as food production, personal hygiene, domestic use, among others.
The Colombian Navy confirms its commitment to the communities of the Colombian Pacific, deploying its naval, River, Air and land resources for the safety and comprehensive well-being of the most vulnerable inhabitants and in support of the national government's programs.
