Valle del Cauca. The accident of several motorcycles caused serious injuries to five native people of the region, who required medical assistance, to prevent they lost their lives.
These wounded indigenous people were initially treated by rescuers of the Pacific Navy Aeronaval Group of the Colombian Navy, who provided them with first aid and stabilize them and then took them to the health center in Juanchaco, where they were evaluated by medical personnel.
However, the health center did not have the precursors, specialized personnel and infrastructure necessary for this type of emergency, given that the wounded had open fractures, exposed lesions and one of them, had suffered a head trauma, so it was necessary for the Navy of Colombia to have Coastguard units for the evacuation by sea of the wounded to the city of Buenaventura, in the department of Valle del Cauca.
In the port, they were being awaited by ambulances that transported them to a hospital center for their recovery.
