The Colombian Navy, in collaboration with the Young Peace Builders Association and in support of the Peasant productive Groups of the Montes de María region, made possible the first shipment of more than 48,600 AA eggs, by sea, from Cartagena to the islands of San Andrés and Providencia.
Thanks to the coordinated work conducted by the Caribbean Naval Force and different institutions in support of the Peasant Associations of the departments of Bolivar and Sucre, and in compliance with the local public sales law, we have the largest commercialization to date of Montemarians own products at the national level.
This commercialization was possible to materialize in the framework of the Entrepreneurship Meeting led by the Naval Institution, which led to the small entrepreneurs of agricultural products having a direct line with department stores nationwide. On this occasion, with the shipment of agricultural products, it was possible to benefit 15,000 people from municipalities such as San Andrés and Providencia, El Carmen de Bolívar and San Juan de Nepomuceno.
This work becomes a benchmark for the opening of new markets, the economic reactivation and the productive development of the farmers who make up the Peasant Associations of the Montes de María.
