Within the framework of the inter-institutional commitment to strengthen the comprehensive well-being of the island communities, a development support activity was carried out in the people of Orika in Islas del Rosario, where more than 650 people benefited thanks to the coordinated effort conducted by the Colombian Navy, civil authorities and private companies.
During this humanitarian assistance activity, which had the purpose of bringing the Unified operation of the State to these prioritized and focused people, 17 doctors of the Cartagena Hospital, the Simon Bolivar University and the Metropolitan University of Barranquilla provided free of charge medical services with specialists of the areas of internal medicine, nutrition, psychology, general medicine, pediatrics, vaccination, dentistry, among others. In the same way, recreation and well-being activities were carried out with inflatables, trampolines, face painting, distribution of 1,400 units of liquid Bienestarina (food supplement) and 16,000 gallons of drinking water to the communities of the insular area of Cartagena.
On the other hand, thanks to the coordination of Resources of unarmed effort, the Mayor's Office of Cartagena, the Community Council of Black Communities, Community Unit of the Rural Government of Islas del Rosario provided snacks, lunches and hydration and the Procaps Foundation distributed medicines to the people participating in this activity.
