Units of the Navy of Colombia carried out two operations to evacuate a baby and a man that wanted urgent medical assistance, in the Gulf of Morrosquillo and La Guajra, respectively.
The first operation was carried out when the navy received a call from the San Bernardo Archipelago, reporting that a six-month-old baby needed to be evacuated from Isla M煤cura, since she was in a state of unconsciousness caused by a blow to the head due to a fall according to what his relatives said. The minor accompanied by her mother and an uncle, was transferred by sea to Tol煤 - in the department of Sucre, where they were expected by the Police to make the transfer to a health center in this municipality.
The second operation began when the Ballenas Coastguard Station in La Guajira received a call reporting that a fishing boat, which was being sailed in waters of Mayapo, had a mechanical failure in its engine, which produced the detachment of a metal piece that caused a large cut in the arm of one of the crew, so he was losing a lot of blood. Immediately, a Rapid Reaction Unit set sail, with the Unit's nurse on board to attend the emergency, managing to control the hemorrhage during the trip to the Riohacha pier, where the family waited for him to move him to a medical center where he was later treated.
