In two river operations, troops of the Colombian Navy and the National Army attached to the Joint Task Force Titan obtained the surrender to justice of three alleged members of the Pablo Jos茅 Montalvo Cuitiva substructure of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, in the department of Choc贸.
The permanent work and the continuous development of security operations carried out by the Navy Infantry units on the Atrato River, led to conduct an operation near the village Coraz贸n de Jes煤s of the municipality of Bojay谩 - department of Choc贸, where the individuals alias Juancho and alias Soldado made the decision to return to legality and rejoin civilian life.
Alias Juancho, 24, was part of the criminal component two years ago, while alias Soldado, 35, had been in the illegal armed group for three years.
The two men, noticing the work of the troops of the Naval Institution, expressed their will to surrender to justice and they handed over a fiberglass boat, two cell phones, 230 pairs of batteries, 144 cigarette packs, two flashlights, a sweater alluding to the front with AGC letters and a camouflage fabric.
Subsequently, the navy men of the Navy River Battalion No.16 continued to conduct the in-depth searches and river tactical movements on the Bojay谩 River, and they obtained the surrender to justice of the individual alias Fredy, 38, which gave two radios, a radio charger and a battery.
Immediately, the units of the Colombian Navy established communication with the Humanitarian Assistance program for the Demobilized, with the Attorney General's Office and the Ombudsman's Office, to carry out the relevant judicial coordination and start the route of return to legality.
The Military Forces will continue to carry out joint operations that will dismantle illegal armed groups that commit crimes in this area of the country, contributing to the security and comprehensive development of all the inhabitants.
