In a coordinated operation conducted by the Colombian Navy, the National Police and the Royal Navy of the Netherlands, carried out in waters of the Caribbean Sea, it was possible to find 5.4 tons of cocaine, which were transported aboard a cargo ship named Aressa, with Cameroon flag, whose destination was the port of Thessaloniki in Greece.
Once the suspicious ship was detected, thanks to the international intelligence and coordination agreement, the deployment of Naval Units of the Royal Navy of the Netherlands took place, who interdicted the ship, finding in the machine compartment some sacks with narcotic substances.
The Preliminary Initial Test was carried out and it showed a positive result for 5,410.38 kilos of cocaine hydrochloride.
It is estimated that the value of this cargo in the international black market is more than 182 million dollars, a figure that thanks to this operation will not enter the illegal groups.
