With the aim of highlighting the operational components of the Navy of Colombia, the importance of the areas of maritime and river in the regional economy, as well as the contribution to the comprehensive security of the Colombian Caribbean, the rear admiral Leon Ernesto Espinosa Torres, Director of the Naval School of non-commissioned officers ARC Barranquilla, participated in the First Summit of Comprehensive Security in the Caribbean Region.
The event was held at the Viva Shopping Center, in Barranquilla, and had the participation of the National Police, the National Army, the Colombian Air Force, the mayor of Barranquilla, the Grupo Éxito, the Corporación Empresarial del Oriente del Atlántico and the Latin American community of consultants and Advisors in Risk Management and security.
Rear Admiral León Espinosa, director of the Naval School of Non-Commissioned Officers led the presentation Comprehensive Maritime and river security in the Caribbean region, where he highlighted the strategic importance of this region and presented the most important results on security issues of the Colombian Navy and the Caribbean Naval Force.
During the Security Summit, the Naval School of Non-Commissioned Officers set up a stand where the citizens of Barranquilla could get to know all the academic offer of the Institution, the incorporation processes and the naval aviation components of the Colombian Navy. This represented a great opportunity to consolidate efficient coordination with government institutions and private companies for the benefit of the inhabitants of the Colombian Caribbean.
“We can achieve a space of joint effort which is generated by public and private institutions. The heart of the unified operation has to do with us joining efforts and resources so that we can generate the best security conditions in the context of the Caribbean region,” said the school's director.
