Bolivar. In order to strengthen the training of merchant cadets, the Naval Academy of Cadets "Almirante Padilla" signed an agreement with the international company Coltugs S.A.S, which aims to join efforts to establish and regulate the relations of mutual cooperation for the realization of activities of common academic interest and strengthen the skills of seafarers, by boarding merchant cadets and pilots.
The agreement, which will last five years, was signed by Cristian Enrique Lyon Opazo, General Manager of Coltugs S.A.S, and Rear Admiral Francisco Hernando Cubides Granados, Director of the Naval School.
This company has international agreements with merchant marine schools in Chile and Argentina, has 13 tugboats distributed in different ports throughout the country. In addition, it has 20 merchant officers, graduated from the Naval School of Cadets.
In the embarkation phase for the students of the Naval School of Cadets, merchant cadets and pilots can comply with the practices that are necessary and obligatory for the licenses as merchant officers granted by the Maritime General Directorate.
