In a search and control operation, the Colombian Navy and officials of the Technical Investigation Corps of the Attorney General's Office find 1,007 kilograms of Cocaine Hydrochloride, transported on board a merchant ship in the Gulf of Urabá.
The result came during the inspection carried out by members of the Coast Guard Station of Urabá, in the cargo area of Bahía Colombia, in Turbo - in the department of Antioquia, who found 40 bags hidden in a container containing 1,000 packages pressed with the illicit substance.
The stash of alkaloid was taken to the Coast Guard Station of Urabá, where the Technical Investigation Corps of the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation, conducted the Homologated Preliminary Initial Test, resulting positive for 1,007 kilograms of Cocaine Hydrochloride.
This shipment, which is presumed to belong to an organized structure associated with the GAO Clan del Golfo, had as destination the port of Antwerp in Belgium. This is the first finding of this year against illegal organizations at the service of drug trafficking who commit crimes in the Colombian Caribbean.
The price of the drug is over 60 million dollars in the international black market, which hits the main source of finance for these groups outlaw.
