Valle del Cauca. Troops of the National Navy found in different maritime and fluvial control operations, in the departments of Chocó and Valle del Cauca, more than 930 cubic meters of wood that were transported without the permits issued by the corresponding environmental authorities.
The first finding took place at a fluvial control checkpoint in the sector of Piliza, municipality of Bajo Baudó, in the department of Chocó, where the motorboat "Santo Steven" transported 460 blocks of native wood and 269 cubic meters of wood.
During the inspection the captain of the ship did not showed the required legal documentation, for that reason he was transferred to the municipality of Pizarro and put into custody of the Regional Autonomous Corporation for the Sustainable Development of Chocó, Codechocó.
Later, in the municipality of Docordó of Litoral San Juan, in Chocó, troops of the Pacific Naval Force in a fluvial checkpoint, found a boat that transported 600 cubic meters of wood. The wood was being transported to the municipality of Docordó and later put into custody of the authority.
In the same way, in the area of the Bay of Buenaventura, in Valle del Cauca, in a river surveillance and safety operation, two ships were found, one of them, " Dios es mi guía," transported 1250 pieces of protected wood, equivalent to 60 cubic meters of wood, along with another with-no name boat that was transporting eight cubic meters of wood, as well as two chainsaws. The boats were taken to Buenaventura where the material was given to the environmental authority.
The seven individuals who manned the boats were put into custody of the authorities.
