In recent hours, units of the National Navy found 234 kilograms of cocaine aboard a German-flagged sailboat that sailed through Caribbean waters, in transit towards Panama and Aruba.
Units of the National Navy in a sea control operation made an inspection to the sailboat "Nam 8", when detecting that this ship entering Colombian waters diverted its course towards Jamaica, so it violated the Merchant Marine standards and in consequence it was taken to San Andr茅s, where a detailed inspection was carried out with CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) personnel, finding 245 rectangular packages, with what appeared to be narcotic substances.
For this reason, the capture of the two crew members of the ship was carried out. One of them is Colombian and the other two are Israeli-Germans. They will be in prosecution process in the island of San Andr茅s, to face charges for the crime of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying of narcotics.
