Bolivar. In recent hours, aeronautical units conducted the evacuation of a Russian man, crew member of a Merchant Ship that suffered a fall and required immediate medical assistance.
Upon receiving the emergency call of the Liberian merchant ship "Alaed", that came from Santiago de Cuba to the city of Barranquilla, the National Navy activated alerts to its components and immediately arranged a helicopter belonging to the Aeronaval Group of the Caribbean, in order to carry out the timely medical evacuation of the Russian crew member who suffered a fall of 6 meters height while conducting maneuvers on the deck.
Through the Naval Aviation Recovery Group and thanks to the skills of paramedics and rescue personnel, it was possible to stabilize the patient, who suffered fractures of the forearm, hip and left ankle, to then conduct the medical evacuation maneuver by air from the sea 97 nautical miles north of the city of Barranquilla.
The patient was evacuated in a naval helicopter Bell 412 and taken to the health facility of the Naval School of Sub-officers ARC "Barranquilla", where he received timely medical assistance and efficient transportation to a clinic in the city to continue with the recovery of his health.
