For three days, the National Navy carried out a Development Support Activity in the hamlet Nueva Antioquia, in the department of Vichada, which benefited 480 people with the services of specialized medical attentions and recreational activities.
Along the Meta river, more than 260 kilometers were navigated by the units of the 51st Infantry Battalion, transporting on board humanitarian aid, medicines and a group of health professionals, in order to bring wellbeing to the population settled in the hamlet Nueva Antioquia, in the municipality of La Primavera, in Vichada, border area of the country.
In the activity, 1,254 consultations took place in general medicine, pediatrics, physiotherapy, gynecology, ultrasound, psychology, maternal and infant nutrition, family planning, dentistry and vaccination. In the same way, 380 recipes were distributed and people heard talks about education and prevention of sexually transmitted diseases.
In the same way, the Military cheered the hearts of children, who actively participated in all activities such as traditional games, refreshments and present giving.
This activity of Comprehensive Action was led by the National Navy and had the support and participation of the Professional Officers of the Reserve, Soldiers of the National Army, members of the Police, the Colombian Odontological College, the Luna Foundation, the Municipal Hospital San Juan de Dios of Puerto Carreño, and students of the National Service of Learning, SENA.
