In the municipality of San José del Guaviare, soldiers of Comprehensive Action carried out the Plan Buen Vecino, with the aim of doing institutional work in the most vulnerable cultural and indigenous communities.
San José del Guaviare, better known as the Colombian capital city of hope, is in the middle of the extensive lands that covers the Orinoquía region, where cultural and indigenous communities such as Guayabero, Sikuani and Tucano are grouped.
Within the framework of the Plan Buen vecino campaign, the Comprehensive Action and Development Support Battalion No.4 and Infantry Battalion No.19 in coordination with the Government of San José del Guaviare and the Surgical Volunteers International foundation, an interinstitutional activity called Door-to-door greeting Plan was carried out in order to bring the institutional services closer to people.
During the activity, the people of the Panuré indigenous reservation enjoyed an integration activity and the distribution of 10 bicycles by the National Army, in order to facilitate the attendance of the minors to their classrooms, taking into account the long distances that students must travel.
On the other hand, about 350 people benefited of the distribution of aid and participated in activities for social growth and municipal development. In addition, the troops of Comprehensive Action and the Fourth Division, carried out activities of loudspeakers, where they toured the streets of the territory with the intention of spreading the campaigns of prevention of forced recruitment and also to prevent COVID-19.
