In order to encourage the care of the ecosystem and reduce pollution in the community of Miranda, in the department of Cauca, institutions such as the National Army, the Colombian Red Cross, the Mujer Siglo XXI Foundation and El Rendidor Supermarkets joined in an environmental activity that benefited 800 people of this municipality of the department de Cauca.
During the event, children, young people and adults interested in environmental issues, contributed their bit to make this sector a better place. Lucy Otero, inhabitant of the region, said: "I want to give thanks for this great clean-up activity in the Güengüé River because we love Miranda and because we want our river."
In the activity, a training was given to the attendees, where the use of recyclable and non-recyclable materials was taught. This activity seeks to raise awareness among the inhabitants of the municipality since the water sources are of vital importance and for the conservation of the environment.
The National Army, through its units, will continue working for the progress and development of the communities in the department of Cauca. The soldiers of Colombia work with integration, vocation and development and are bicentenary heroes.
