With the aim of strengthening communicative skills of the organization Jóvenes Rurales por la Paz (a group for peace led by youth), troops of the program Fe in Colombia of the National Army teach them about the communicative content they could have to make their rural actions more visible.
The workshops are held within the framework of the project Familias Rurales Constructoras de Paz con Jóvenes y Mujeres de la Corporación Corcaraño (a peace program), in Florencia, Caquetá, which is part of the Alianzas para la Reconciliación de la Organización Internacional - ACDI/VOCA (reconciliation program).
Irialed Murcia, representative of Corcaraño, said: “The program Fe in Colombia is important because we can learn communication strategies to reach youth groups. Today we want to motivate them [youth people] to tell what is happening in the field”.
This organization is made up of 15 young people, with whom it seeks to encourage the peasants’ productive dynamics through communication skills. These workshops also seek to create audiovisual content about life stories in which they are protagonists of their territory and thus strengthen family and community agriculture in Corcaraño.
Jenny Molina Velásquez, member of the organization, stated: "These workshops are very important because we can learn about communication, something that is very valuable since it contributes to our life project”.
The men and women of the National Army and the program Fe en Colombia will continue to work to generate opportunities and wellbeing in the most vulnerable communities in the department of Caquetá.
