The strengthening of the National Army's media platform transcends Colombia's borders and reaches the military in international missions.
The activation of the Colombia Stereo radio station of the National Army, in the Battalion Norte of the Multinational Force of Peace and Observers, MFO, in the Sinai Peninsula is a reality. For several weeks, the military personnel who are part of the Colombia Battalion No.3, deployed in the northern region of the African continent, have been able to feel closer to home, thanks to the activation of the 107.3 FM frequency, of the Army station of Colombia.
The coverage of the radio station covers the northern base of the MFO, under the leadership of Colonel Luis E. Cifuentes Villamar铆n, commander of the Colombia No.3 Battalion, period 2019-2020. There, there are in the same way troops of countries such as the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Great Britain and Uruguay, among others, who work together with Colombian soldiers as guarantors of compliance with the peace agreement in the Sinai region.
This station is directed by First Sergeant Ricardo Li茅vano Torres, belonging to Relay 115, who in this regard says: "The station is an effective channel of communication for soldiers with their families in Colombia, carrying messages of encouragement and morals."
This station helps keep men informed of all the news that is happening in the National Army, and is a mean of entertainment, making it possible for the soldiers of the Colombia Battalion to get closer to homeland.
The radio station has Colombian music programs and content of interest, which has made it an important mean of communication for soldiers from other armies to learn about Colombian culture. This, of course, strengthens the institutional and our country's image, and in the same way positions the resources of the National Army as a benchmark in international peacekeeping missions in which Colombian soldiers participate.
