In a new campaign to consolidate the results obtained in security matters throughout history, the Sixth Division of the National Army through the Infantry Battalion No.34 Juanambú of the Twelfth Brigade and the Support Command of Comprehensive Action and Development with its Comprehensive Action Battalion No.6, provide 1,417 social services to the inhabitants of the municipality of Curillo, in the south of the department of Caquetá.
The activity benefited residents of 49 sectors of the region that was chosen due to law and order precedents. Threats to security persist, such as plantations for illicit use, that is why an articulated effort of the institutions is required to mitigate the critical social indicators that come from geographic and economic factors.
Through an interdisciplinary group of health specialists, professionals in different areas and awareness raising groups, medical, dental, psychological and optometric care was provided to 488 people, 26 consultations were served by the National registry of civil Status and the Colombian Institute of Family Wellbeing, 185 medical prescriptions were dispatched and 27 vaccination programs were completed.
Finally, 208 beauty services were provided, 632 children participated in recreational activities and 773 donations were given to those attending the event.
This Development Support Activity was aimed at mitigating the needs of the population that suffered the consequences of the conflict, such as the attack on the Police Station on December 9, 1999 and the massacre of four members of the Security forces on November 26, 2011, who were kidnapped. Today the State has turned its attention to ensure the non-return of criminality in this region taking into account that it is a strategic mobility route which is the natural limit between the departments of Caquetá, Cauca and Putumayo. The Institutional Control of the territory arrives in with alternatives for the vulnerable population thanks to the management of projects through Fe in Colombia and special programs.
