In our commitment to fully comply with the guidelines of the Heroes of Freedom Bicentenary Plan, and with the objective of contributing to the security and well-being of the Nariñense Pacific region, the Hercules Joint Consolidation and Stabilization Task Force, announced the confiscation of $709,600,000 COP, about USD 165,284, which were transported by two alleged members of the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Iván Ríos.
The facts took place at kilometer 102 of the El Diviso village, municipality of Barbacoas, (Nariño), at a checkpoint on the road leading from the city of Pasto to Tumaco, under the command of a National Army non-commissioned officer, who together with the troops stopped a private vehicle, in which two people were traveling; after the review several bundles of money in two suitcases were found by troops.
At the time of carrying out the procedure, the individuals approached the non-commissioned officer and the soldiers to talk privately in search of providing a bribe, in order to let them continue their journey, and indicating that they could take part of the money. The non-commissioned officer immediately rejected the offer and continued the process by informing the higher command in a timely manner.
The money found and the two arrested individuals were put into custody of the authorities for their respective prosecution.
The non-commissioned officer is a clear example of commitment to the institution, who followed the norm, ethics and transparency, but above all his principles and values as a person.
With this result it was possible to hit the finances of the Organized Armed Groups that commit crimes in the Nariño Pacific.
