Three individuals were killed in the course of the military operation. One woman, who was wounded, was captured and she was assisted by the military. Another two individuals surrendered to justice.
In development of military operations, in the north of Antioquia, in assistance to Early Warning No.004 of the 2020 of the Defensor铆a del Pueblo, troops of the Seventh Division of the National Army, engaged fighting against members of the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, substructure Edwin Rom谩n Vel谩squez.
The action occurred in the village Las Cuatro, in the municipality of Ituango, where soldiers of the Fourth Brigade, with support of the Colombian Air Force, the National Police and the Attorney General's office, after a detailed planning, conducted the operation, resulting in the death of three members of the gang.
In the same way, a woman who would be part of this structure, was wounded and immediately, in accordance with the provisions of International Humanitarian Law, was assisted on the site by military combat nurses, those who had been shot by her minutes earlier.
There she was given first aid and then she was evacuated in a helicopter specially equipped for this kind of situations to a care center, where at this time she receives medical assistance. Finally, two other individuals surrendered to justice. In the operation troops found four rifles, as well as military accessories and communications material.
It should be noted that previously in this sector, there had been a series of homicides, drug trafficking, extortions and forced recruitment, criminal conducts perpetrated by these organized armed groups, who were disturbing the stability and security of the municipality's community, violating Human rights of civilians.
