A military operation carried out by the Twenty-Third Brigade, in coordination with the National Police, prevented a terrorist attack in the southwest of the country.
In the framework of the Plan Bicentenario Héroes de la Libertad (Bicentenary Plan Heroes of Freedom), a decisive coup against those who would have been part of the residual Organized Armed Group (GAO-r) Óliver Sinisterra, was carried out thanks to intelligence work carried out by the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) in Nariño.
Units of Brigade No. 23, who under the supervision of the DELTA Explosives and Demolition Team, and in coordination with the National Police, destroyed in a controlled manner an illegal hiding place with 10 containers with about 200 kilograms of apparently pentolite, which would be used to carry out terrorist attacks against civilians and troops patrolling the municipality of Cajapí, municipality of Tumaco.
This illegal hiding place was built underground and wanted to be activated by the wire command method using electric detonators.
