More than 50 families are favored with the support provided by soldiers and the mayor's office, in this area, which suffers recurrent damage by the wave of rains.
Men of the Comprehensive Action and Development Support Battalion No.4, The Twenty-Second Jungle Brigade of the Fourth Division of the National Army, together with the mayor's Office of Calamar, in the Department of Guaviare, and the community of the neighborhood Comunero, joined efforts to recover the ditches in front of several houses, which had been suffering floodings due to the state of the land.
More than six months ago, the residents of this sector had expressed the need to clean the spaces between their homes and the green zone, because they were facing floods and bad odors by the stagnation of rainwater, in addition to the proliferation of mosquitoes and rodents, so that the troops coordinated efforts with the municipal government, to conduct an activity of cleaning and beautification.
The community of the neighborhood Comunero, opened the doors of their homes to the soldiers to work as a team and, with shovels, boots and gloves joined this activity that, despite the changes of the Climate left positive results for all and a space full of life for children to enjoy.
Mr Laureano Narciso Moreno, member of the Community Council of Calamar said “We are very happy with this activity of cleaning of the ditches, God bless you all and I thank you very much for this operation that was needed a long time ago”.
