The finding of the merchandise that was hidden in a truck that was traveling by the Hato Corozal, Casanare and Tame, Arauca roads is a powerful blow against drug trafficking in the department of Casanare.
Within the framework of stability operations carried out by Colombian National Army, jointly with the Colombian Aerospace Force, and interinstitutional with the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office, it was possible to find approximately 1,200 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, on the road connecting Hato Corozal - La Cabuya, Casanare and Tame, Arauca.
The work carried out by military intelligence led to finding a truck that would have been equipped to transport livestock. At a military post carried out by the Cavalry Group N.掳 16 Gu铆as de Casanare and the Light Cavalry Group N.掳 7 Meteoro of the Sixteenth Brigade of Colombian National Army, the truck was inspected and verified. After the procedure, the soldiers found that it was hiding, by the double bottom method, about 1,000 packages of a substance that by its physical characteristics resembles cocaine hydrochloride.
The individual who was driving this vehicle, upon learning of the finding, tried to bribe one of the soldiers and the commanding officer of the post with 50 million pesos, who, following the rules of transparency of Colombian National Army, heavily refused, proceeding to his arrest to put him into custody of the judicial authority.
This cocaine hydrochloride found can reach up to about 35 million dollars, a value that would finance the organized armed groups outlaw that commit crimes in eastern Colombia, preventing drug trafficking to reach the youth who would be hit by the sale or acquisition of this type of hallucinogenic substances.
Six million pesos were in the same way found in the operation, and two cell phones that, along with the hallucinogen, were put into custody of the Attorney General's Office.
