With this finding, the theft of more than 1,200 barrels of fuel per day transported by the pipeline of the pumping station of the municipality of Herveo, in the north of Tolima, is prevented.
Thanks to the work carried out by soldiers of the Patriotas Battalion, of the Sixth Brigade, in an operation framed in the Ayacucho Plan, it was possible to maintain the operation that leads to the transportation of 32,000 barrels of fuel that arrive in complete normalcy from the center to the west of the country during the month.
The criminals had installed an illegal valve at a point of the pipeline that is in the municipality of Herveo, Tolima, in order to steal this fuel regardless of the loss to the ecosystems of the region.
The illegal valve was found thanks to the information provided by the support network, there the specialized personnel carried out maintenance work to resume the operation and transport of fuel by the polyduct that leads from Puerto Salgar, Cundinamarca, to Cartago, Valle.
In this way, it was possible to prevent the loss of fuel supply from the west of the country, as well as the illicit receipt of fuels.
The Ayacucho Plan contributes to the protection of the strategic resources of the State by the work of the soldiers of the Sixth Brigade of the National Army and, in turn, the authorities conduct the respective investigations to find the criminals who would carry out this theft.
