The rapid reaction of the soldiers led to prevent attacks in rural areas of the municipalities of Arauquita and Tame
Arauca. More than 40 minutes were necessary for the military experts of the Task Force Quiron to neutralize improvised explosive devices. They achieved this in the village Canoas, rural area of the municipality of Tame, where four gas cylinder-type explosive devices of 60 kilos and 200 meters of two wire cable were found and neutralized.
In the municipality of Arauquita, on the shore of a cocoa plantation, the troops also found an explosive device that was later neutralized.
In this way, the constant military operations carried out throughout the Arauca’s region led to the discovery and neutralization of these explosive devices that not only put at risk the lives of the military in the area but in the same way that of the inhabitants. According to the information obtained by military intelligence, the devices would have been planted by members of the 'Martha Helena Barón' commission of the ELN.
