This year, more than 4.5 tons of marijuana belonging to organized armed groups that commit crimes have been found in this region of the Colombian Amazon.
In compliance with the Ayacucho Campaign Plan, the Sixth Division of the National Army, in two military operations, in an inter-institutional manner with the Attorney General's Office, destroyed more than 3 tons of creepy marijuana in the village of Araracuara, municipality of Solano, Caquetá, and in the area of La Pedrera, in the department of Amazonas. This drug apparently belonged to the residual organized armed group (GAO-r) Carolina Ramirez Structure.
Troops of the Twenty-Sixth Jungle Brigade, through military intelligence, reported giving this important blow to the finances of this criminal structure, responsible for homicides, criminal acts, human rights violations, violations of International Humanitarian Law and confrontations with other structures that commit crimes such as drug trafficking.
It is important to highlight that, with the finding and destruction of this marijuana, the National Army hits the finances of the FARC dissidents by about 16,650,000,000 COP. In the same way, it was prevented the monthly circulation of more than two million doses on the international illegal market, and it was also possible to mitigate the contamination of natural resources in jungle areas of the Amazon region.
This marijuana was destroyed under controlled conditions by members of the Technical Investigation Staff of the Attorney General's Office, attached to the Investigative Group against Drug Trafficking, under strict security regulations and following all measures for the preservation of the environment.
