Within the cooperation agreements conducted by Colombia and the government of Japan, it was possible for 10 members (men and women) to travel to that Asian country, to learn new techniques and exchange experiences.
A delegation of five officers and five non-commissioned officers of the Humanitarian Demining Brigade of the National Army is in the Kingdom of Cambodia, where they are being trained in procedures and techniques of this specialty. In the same way, the military will be part of an exchange of experiences acquired by our country over more than 16 years, in which this specialty has been implemented for the security and well-being of Colombians.
The 10 members of the Military Forces, were selected by the institutional command, thanks to their Resources, knowledge, experience and profile that stands out among more than 4,600 men and women who are part of the Brigade of Humanitarian Demining, who work in the country.
The chosen ones, including a woman, are part of units that carry out their work of decontamination of mines, explosive devices and unexploded ordnance in departments such as Caquet谩, Tolima, Santander, Huila, Cauca, Caldas, Putumayo, Antioquia and Los Llanos Orientales region.
The Colombian mine clearance specialists will be in Cambodia for three weeks, sharing experiences and training with international instructors in humanitarian demining operations, which, without a doubt, will contribute to improve the procedures currently implemented in the work they carry out in our territory.
From 2015 to date, the Brigade of Humanitarian Demining of the National Army, has destroyed 6.794 explosive devices and has also decontaminate 249 municipalities in Colombia, and its efforts continue into the present in order to move forward in the recovery of fields and hamlets so that they become productive without the threat or suspicion of devices that can put in risk the life of the peasants who live there.
