The pressure exerted by our troops led to hitting the armed component of this organized criminal group.
In military operations, within the framework of the Ayacucho Plan, soldiers of the National Army, in coordination with the National Police and in an inter-institutional manner with the Attorney General's Office, dealt a serious blow to the criminal group GAO Clan del Oriente, in the departments of Caldas and Antioquia.
The first military operation was carried out in the village of Buenavista, in the municipality of Samaná, Caldas, where the soldiers arrived to arrest alias Tun Tun, who would be the third ringleader of the aforementioned illegal structure, by judicial order.
This individual was at a house packing clothes and provisions to continue fleeing of the authorities, when he was surprised by the members of the Military Forces. During the arrest procedure, military equipment for the exclusive use of the Military Forces was seized.
Alias Tun Tun must face charges of association to commit crimes, extortion, and manufacture, carrying or possession of firearms, accessories parts or ammunition and trafficking or carrying narcotics.
On the other hand, in the municipality of Argelia, to the east of the department of Antioquia, an individual known as El Eléctrico, alleged head of hitmen of this organized criminal group, in charge of coordinating targeted killings and collecting money from extortion, was arrested by court order. He in the same way made threats to merchants and farms owners in the municipalities of Argelia, Nariño and Sonson.
In the same way, he was one of those responsible for the threats and generating fear in the inhabitants of the Eastern subregion, ordered by alias Camilo. At the time of his arrest, alias El Eléctrico had in his possession three revolvers, 36 cartridges and a communication equipment.
The arrested, along with the material found, were put into custody of the authorities for their respective prosecution process.
