Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plan and within the framework of military operations to achieve peace and stability in the region, soldiers of the National Army, in an inter-institutional operation with the Attorney General's Office, arrested alias Juan Esteban and found war material, military accessories and communications belonging to the group Structure 36, in the village Montebello, municipality of Anorí, Antioquia.
Alias Juan Esteban had extensive criminal experience; he was the right-hand man and member of the security of alias Macho Viejo, he in the same way participated in extortion, coercion on civilians and forced recruitment. He in the same way contributed to the use of people to sedition to prevent the Military Forces from fulfilling their constitutional mission.
In the military operation, 5 rifles, 1 submachinegun, 1 pistol, 1 revolver, 18 magazines, 1 fragmentation grenade and more than 1,200 cartridges of different calibers were found by troops, as well as 50 detonators, 56 electric matches, 16 plastic caps, a switch, a detonating cord and a machine they used to manufacture improvised explosive devices to attack the community.
In the same way, 3 campaign equipment, 2 berets, 1 chameleon camouflage, 3 pixelated camouflage, 4 multipurpose vests, 1 bracelet alluding to the FARC Frente 36, 4 green T-shirts, among other materials exclusively used by the Military Forces were found by troops. To this are added 3 radios, an antenna, a cell phone and a laptop.
It should be noted that, among the 5 rifles found, a Galil rifle was recovered. This rifle had been stolen in November last year of the troops Artillery Battalion No. 4, where the inhabitants, coerced by those individuals, kidnapped two soldiers in the village of El Hoyo, in Briceño, Antioquia. In addition, personal items of alias Macho Viejo and alias Primo Gay were found by troops in the frame of this great operation.
The arrested man, as well as the material found, was put into custody of the judicial authorities.
