A platoon of the Disaster Response and Prevention Brigade together with relief agencies are working to completely extinguish the conflagration.
Forest brigade soldiers of the National Army's Disaster Prevention and Assistance Brigade, in coordination with the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management and the National Fire Department, continue to make progress in controlling the forest fire that has been reported in the municipality of Covarachía Boyacá for two days.
At this hour the work of extinguishing the fire by the military and relief agencies continues and it is expected that in the coming hours this emergency will be controlled, which, according to data of the authorities, has hit approximately 45 hectares.
The National Army is calling on the people in general to prevent burnings and bonfires and not leaving matches, butts or bottles that may generate fires in the forests, thus contributing to the protection of natural resources, since at this time the cases of forest emergencies are increasing.
