Thanks to this operation, this organization outlaw was prevented from resuming its criminal activities in the Northern subregion of the department of Antioquia.
In the village center Loma Grande, in the municipality of San Andr茅s de Cuerquia, Antioquia, troops of the National Army and officials of the Attorney General's Office, obtained the surrender to justice of an alleged former member of the dismantled Residual Organized Armando Group, GAO-r, Group 5.
This result occurs after the pressure exerted by the troops, after the arrest of alias Calavera last February 2023, who was coordinating with alias Mamarr贸n to reactivate the GAO-r Group 5.
Apparently, the person who submitted to justice, would be under the orders of alias Mamarr贸n.
This individual, at the time of presenting himself to the soldiers, handed over a rifle, two submachineguns, three handguns, two hand grenades, eight magazines and 239 cartridges of different calibers.
The war material and the individual were put into custody of the authorities for their due process of prosecution and adaptation to the life of legality.
