With the resources of the Comprehensive Action, the National Army arrived in the municipalities of Balboa and Mercaderes, to continue working for the well-being of the communities.
Through integration activities that promote to continue building peace and bonds of trust with the community, the National Army went in these municipalities that have been hit by the conflict, with the aim of continuing to mitigate some factors of instability in the south-west of the department.
Balboa, better known as the Balcony of the Pat铆a, for its geographical place from where the Pat铆a Valley can be appreciated, has an approximate population of 25,000 inhabitants, according to the projections of the DANE (2005-2020). It is here that the blue tent of the Colombia Circus No.3 in which families gather every night to enjoy the shows performed by the soldiers, who besides winning smiles and hearts, leave messages of peace, security and healthy coexistence.
There are 15 shows preformed so far, in which more than 6,000 people have lived the unique experience that the presentations full of humor, juggling, faquirism and other circus skills are executed by the 13 soldiers and a non-commissioned officer of this military circus.
Mercaderes is 55 kilometers far from Balboa, named as the corn capital city of Colombia and where the Comprehensive Action Battalion No. 3, whose Resources bring together children, young people, adults and older adults with recreational and social recreational activities that the soldiers carry out in the different villages where they arrive to strengthen the rapprochement with the communities in a joint work with the other local institutions.
This is how, for the first time, more than 20 activities have been conducted with the help of tools such as the trampoline, inflatable, face painting, clowns show, children's games, serenades, sports activities. In the same way, support in construction works such as the improvement of some tertiary roads, football field and facade of the communal hall, benefited more than 14,000 people.
