The fight against drug trafficking in the south-east of the country has led to the destruction of 196 laboratories for the production of coca base, costing more than 3800 million pesos.
The troops of the Twenty-Second Jungle Brigade, in the framework of Operation Jos茅 Inocencio Chinc谩, under the guidelines of the Plan Bicentenario H茅roes de la Libertad (Bicentenary plan Heroes Of Freedom) continue to severely hit the finances of the residual Organized Armed Group (GAO-r) Estructura Primera, finding and destroying a laboratory for production of coca based paste, and capturing 13 individuals for the crimes of trafficking, manufacture and carrying narcotic drugs.
Search and control operations by the National Army troops in the department of Guaviare, found and destroyed in the village of Puerto Mand煤, in the municipality of Miraflores, a wooden structure of 100 square meters, which had inside 250 gallons of coca base, 240 kilograms of coca leaf, 125 kilograms of solid supplies, 150 gallons of liquid supplies and machinery for the production of the drug.
There, the military found 13 individuals producing the coca base paste, who were immediately taken to the municipality of San Jos茅 del Guaviare, where they were put into custody of the authorities.
The laboratory would cost more than 24 million pesos and had the capacity to produce 70 kilograms of coca base paste per month, valued at more than 196 million pesos. With this destruction, the Twenty-Second Jungle Brigade has found 196 laboratories throughout the department of Guaviare and in southern Meta during the current year, which has led to hit the economy of the residual GAO Estructura Primera for more than 3,800 million pesos.
