These operations aim to dismantle the organized crime groups that beat more than 123,300 people who inhabit the urban area.
The soldiers of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Bajo Cauca, of the Joint Task Force Aquiles, in coordination with the National Police, arrested, by means of a search warrant, alias Indio, alleged member of the Organized Gang, GDO, Caparros, in the Asocasa neighborhood, Caucasia municipality, in the department of Antioquia, for the crime of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying a firearm.
The Joint Task Force Aquiles was carrying out monitoring, surveillance, identification and finding on the area approximately two months ago, in the urban area of the municipality, where this individual changed houses to evade and not be detected by the authorities, on December 13 of this year, timely information of his location materializing the arrest.
In the same way, he is accused of collecting money from merchants through threats and intimidation, being responsible for a large part of the extortions in the municipality; he is accused of murdering those who did not accede to his threats, crimes for which he was presented to the judicial authorities, who dictated imprisonment. In the same way, he would be at the service of the Caparros Group, harming the economy in the urban area.
This individual had been in the outlaw groups for more than 15 years, he demobilized in 2017 of the FARC EP, in the department of Putumayo where some time later he left the process and began working with the Caparros Group, and due to his long criminal experience he was appointed urban commander and man in charge of the hit men in the municipality of Caucasia, Tarazá and El Bagre.
In the course of the military operation, a pistol, a magazine, seven cartridges, caliber 45 mm and a cell phone were seized. This material was put into custody of the authorities.
Finally, the Joint Task Force Aquiles will continue working for the tranquility of all citizens, conducting decisive operations to provide stability in the Lower Cauca region in Antioquia and south of Córdoba. Therefore, it invites people to report on line 147 any suspicious or illegal act.
