These men would be related to the kidnapping of 19 people belonging to a medical mission on December 16, 2021 in the town of Rincón del Indio, in the municipality of Mapiripán - Meta, who were rescued by National Army troops.
In military operations, troops of the National Army, arrested in flagrante delicto two men accused of belonging to the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Structure 39 Arcesio Niño.
The military operation took place in the municipality of Rincón del Indio in the municipality of Mapiripán - Meta, where members of the Military Forces arrived to find and arrest in flagrante delicto these individuals. The men had in their possession two 45-mm pistol-type firearms and a 38-mm revolver, two magazines, 18 cartridges, two motorcycles and a cell phone.
Alias Elías according to military intelligence, would be the second ringleader of this structure, and was part of the GAO residual Estructura 10 Martín Villa, in the sector of the State of Apure, Venezuela, under the command of alias Arturo, main ringleader of this structure, while alias Zorra Mueca was the right hand of alias Dumar, ringleader of the GAO residual 39.
Those arrested would be responsible for the collection of money from extortion, recruitment of minors, and targeted killings in rural areas of the municipalities of Mapiripán and Puerto Gaitán, Meta, on the sectors of Puerto Siare, Alto Tillava, Planchón del Iteviare, La Esperanza, La Y de la 13 and Puerto Trujillo. In the same way, they intimidated the civilians of that region through the use of graffiti alluding to the residual structure in populated areas, at the same time they forced the planting of coca and illicit use of natural resources associated with transnational crimes such as drug trafficking, and the felling of trees.
In addition to the above, they would be related to the events that occurred on December 16, 2021, when they kidnapped 19 people of a medical mission and executed the theft of three vans where the medical mission traveled; the medical mission carried out humanitarian work in the Rincón del Indio Municipality of Mapiripán, Meta.
With these arrests the criminal command and control of the structure is neutralized, hitting its expansion intention in this area of the country.
Those arrested were put into custody of the authorities; they will be accused of the crimes of trafficking, manufacturing and carrying weapons.
